About TBNT

Hello! My name is Robert, I am a professional photographer and I have a mild interest in tanks. When I’m travelling, I tend to take annoyingly long detours to see these vehicles. Being a part of history, they can always teach you something new. And learning from the past can’t be wrong these days, can it?

On this blog you will find all the heavy metal I have photographed and the extraordinary stories that come with it. It is by no means going to be a comprehensive archive of all the tanks in the world, but a subjective report of the places I visit and what I find particularly interesting.

If you like to go see these vehicles yourself, have a look at my TANK MAPS on Google Maps. Make sure to follow these (and of course this blog) to always get the latest updates. Also, all tank locations are conveniently linked in the individual articles – just click on “location”.

I’m also on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM, so please head over there and follow me if you do this kind of thing.

I am doing my best to only share valid and cross-referenced information. If you do find errors, if you’re having suggestions or quite simply some interesting things to say – do not hesitate to contact me: tanksbutnothanks5000@gmail.com

I am also hosting THE LIBERATING KIND – a website entirely dedicated to the Sherman tanks and Sherman derivatives I’ve encountered on my travels. Some of these I have already covered here, but on TLK you will find more photos and much more detailed in-depth articles on the individual vehicles.
